Tis the season for food and wine fundraisers in Santa Barbara!

Recently my boyfriend and I attended one of my absolute favorites, the Taste of the Nation benefitting Share our Strength, an organization that works to put an end to childhood hunger in America. Held at the Montecito Country Club, the pristine ocean and city views coupled with sips from Santa Barbara’s best wineries and breweries, exquisitely prepared appetizers from local restaurants and catering companies, live music and a stunning selection of silent auction items, this event never fails to disappoint. 

One of the standouts for me was figs with crispy prosciutto, meyer lemon creme fraiche and chamomile gastrique. It was just a perfect little bite filled with summer flavor, and paired so well with almost all of the wines being served that day. I will certainly be poaching this idea for my own use!
